Welcome to Yither & Yonder Podcast

Hello friends, we’d like to welcome you to the Yither and Yonder community!

Just about a year ago we decided we wanted to reconnect with storytelling, invest in a creative pursuit, and revisit one of the greatest adventures of our young lives. Behind a windshield, driving winding mountain roads en route to the Sierra Nevada mountains, Yither and Yonder podcast was imagined, after countless hours of friendship forged in much the same way.

We welcome you to this retelling. We’re by no means professionals, we have no professional assistance with sound editing, social media, marketing, and we are not outdoor experts. We’re just best friends, who did a really long walk together and want to share that story with you.

We’ll share our process, the research we did, the training we planned, the ways things just didn’t work out, and the memories along the way. In those first few conversations we quickly circled the do-we-want-to-be-this-public drain. As Em says in the intro, vulnerability is hard.

This podcast will be as transparent as possible. We share our experiences, our anxieties, frustrations, and fears. We will not pretend things went perfectly, far from it, but we promise to be genuine.

As you listen to our first few episodes, we hope you recognize that like any new situation, it takes us a little while to get comfortable. We’re a little reserved, or in Nikki’s case, loud. We’re developing a groove, and we hope you give us a few episodes to really fall into the comfort of our own skin.

As with any new experience, we tried and failed a lot. We’re here to share those failures in as unfiltered a way as possible. We’ll share our insights, but recognize that what works for us may not for you. Nothing is universal, and what we did, doesn’t have to be what you do.

We welcome a community of conversation, sharing insights and opportunities but, we ask everyone to enter those conversations with kindness.

We appreciate each of you supporting us in the next chapter of this wild adventure.

Anxiety or Intuition

This is the companion post to Episode 3 of the podcast. If you haven't listened yet, head there first Em asks me if I felt pressure. And I answered, always. I think so much of my life has been working
